A treasured kava from Santo’s lush heartland, named for the distinctive reddish colour of its stems. This rare cultivar exists only in its native region. Bir Kar offers an interesting middle ground – neither as light as Kelai nor as heavy as Borogoru. The powder’s scent features notes of roasted peanuts, black pepper, and chocolate. Dr Lebot described this cultivar as “quick and strong” in his research.
