Borogoru

Earn up to 10 points.

Noble cultivar native to Maewo, one of the most widely planted in northern Vanuatu. Traditional grind.

“Boro” means “small” in the local Maewo language.

“Borogoru is unusual among noble kavas in having a compact, shallow root system rather than a deep one. This makes it easier to harvest, and has helped the cultivar spread widely across northern Vanuatu.” The Kava Society (New Zealand)

  1. The latest batch of this perhaps the most famous Vanuatu cultivar – this is no ordinary kava. This is an incredibly thick cream that dominates with its typical aroma – compared to lighter varieties, slightly more pronounced earthy tones balanced by a pleasant nutty aroma of coconut with an admixture of pine resin.
The preparation is somewhat more demanding, requiring longer processing (kneading and squeezing), but the result is a divine nectar with a sharp spicy to hot taste.
With its strong and long-lasting effect, this is a truly exceptional product that will satisfy even demanding and experienced users.
Perhaps the best kava I have ever known!

  2. Had my first traditional borogoru kava last night and after 2-3 hours the sedation kicked in, slept like a baby:)
Can recommend this for anyone who suffers from insomnia.
